CHECKERS - Dames

Checkers - Dames is a plain, complete implementation of draughts, offered by its author as a free board game rather than a dressed-up variant. Pieces move diagonally, captures are made by jumping, and a piece that reaches the far row is promoted and can then travel backwards. Nothing is added and nothing is missing, which is the point: it is the board game itself, ready to play in a tab.

This title is best suited to players who want an honest game of draughts in a browser tab.

1. Take your side of the board
2. Move a piece diagonally forward onto an empty square
3. Jump an opposing piece to capture it, chaining further jumps where they exist
4. Push a piece to the far row to promote it
5. Capture or block every opposing piece to win

Objectives

• Capture all of your opponent's pieces, or leave them without a legal move.

The run ends or fails when

• Losing all your pieces, or having no legal move available, loses the game.

• Diagonal movement with jump captures, including chained multi-jumps in one turn.
• Promotion at the far row grants backward movement, which reshapes the endgame.
• Standard draughts rules throughout, with no variant conditions added.

• Keep your back row intact early; it stops easy promotions against you
• Trade pieces when you are ahead, since fewer pieces favours the leader
• Watch for chains before you take an offered capture
