Game overview

Aqua Dogy sends a pair of dogs down water-park slides and asks them to finish together. Badges are scattered along the flumes, and collecting the full set is what the run is scored on, so speed alone will not do it. The two-player mode is co-operative rather than competitive, which makes it an unusually relaxed pick for a shared keyboard.

This title is best suited to two players who want a light co-operative slide run rather than a competition.

How to play Aqua Dogy

  1. Take one dog each at the top of the slide
  2. Steer down the flume as it twists
  3. Collect the badges placed along the route
  4. Stay on the slide rather than chasing every badge
  5. Cross the finish line together with the full set

Controls

  • Keyboard: first player steers with one half of the keyboard
  • Keyboard: second player steers with the other half

Objectives and failure conditions

Objectives

  • Collect all the badges on the slide and bring both dogs to the finish line.

The run ends or fails when

  • Coming off the slide sends a dog back and costs the badges they were carrying.

Gameplay mechanics

  • Badge collection rather than raw speed decides how a run is graded.
  • Two characters slide simultaneously, and both have to reach the end.
  • Steering is continuous down a fixed route, so the challenge is line choice.

  • Take the inside line on tight bends to stay on the flume
  • Let one dog take the badges on the far side rather than both crossing over
  • Slow into a turn rather than correcting after it
